About The Homestead Shed

The Homestead Shed was inspired by my love for antiques, history and nature. I created this site to share my experiences with you in hopes that it inspires you to not only discover and enjoy the Wisconsin Northwoods, but learn about the history of where you live, to inspire you to experience local life and to discover the nature that we are surrounded with.

I am a native of Wisconsin, having lived near the St. Croix River most of my life. In 2017, I moved up to the great Northwoods of Wisconsin with my amazing boyfriend, James (@beyondscouting). Together we spend our free time exploring the beauty of the Blue Hills and indulging in all that the north has to offer. The geological formations of the Blue Hills make this area one of the most unique places in the world.

I feel a great connection with the past, and spend a lot of my time reading and learning how life was when the settlers came to Wisconsin as well as the life of Native Americans. I love learning how the settlers and Natives used what God created on the Earth so that they could survive. Through these curiosities, I have expanded my knowledge of foraging, gardening, hunting and preserving.

I hope from my website that you can learn, discover and find interests in something new to you. I am not an affiliate to any company and do not get paid for any reviews. Please reach out with any questions, comments or suggestions on the form below or email at bk@thehomesteadshed.com. I'd love to hear from  you!
